A Palestinian woman in her 20s was arrested Monday morning at the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron after three knives were discovered concealed on her body.
The woman, who was recently released from prison, admitted to security personnel that she wanted to carry out a terror attack, according to Hebrew media reports.
Security forces became suspicious of the woman when she was seen lurking near one of the entrances to the complex, they said, and suspected she was looking to target a police officer or guard.
The woman, a resident of Hebron, was transferred to police custody. An initial investigation revealed that she was released from prison several months ago, after serving a sentence for a similar attempted knife attack last year.
