A song and video clip published on YouTube Monday, under the title “Obama Jay,” pokes fun at the upcoming visit by US President Barack Obama to Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

The song, while wishing the president a “safe visit,” purports to convey the suspicious sentiment expressed by the Palestinian public ahead of the trip.

The clip begins with two young men waiting at the Palestinian headquarters while the (poor) Obama look-alike is stuck at the Qalandiya checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah.

The rest of the song follows “Obama” making his way through Ramallah curiously sans entourage, and walking along the security barrier.

The lyrics lament the failure to establish a Palestinian state — “We waited forever, we can wait a bit longer” — mocks US efforts for peace, and suggests that Obama is afraid of Israel.

The song ends with “Obama” saying to the young men: “I’ve seen enough, I have to leave now, but I promise you peace will be achieved, just keep waiting.”
