The Education Ministry, in cooperation with the IDF Home Front Command, rescue services, and local councils, held a drill in Israel’s schools and kindergartens Monday morning.
The drill ran from 10:05 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
At the start of the exercise, warning sirens sounded as students headed toward bomb shelters.
Scenarios involving missile strikes near schools were also included as part of the drill. Authorities were also examining options for continuing students’ education remotely via the internet.
Israel regularly holds drills testing readiness for scenarios including chemical weapon attacks, missile strikes, and natural disasters.
