A top military officer who is the son of a former navy chief was dismissed from the army recently after providing classified information to a “non-authorized party,”
Lt. Col. Elad Marom, who was appointed to deputy commander of the navy’s Ashdod base last year, was discharged after he admitted during a routine interview to confirm his security clearance that he had provided sensitive information to a person who was not authorized to receive it.
Following Marom’s statement, IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot decided to dismiss him from duty.
Marom’s father is Rear-Admiral (ret.) Eliezer “Chiney” Marom, who served as head of the navy between 2007 and 2011.
