7-month-old girl dies in Beit Shemesh, police investigating
Medics find infant unconscious in apartment, rush her to the hospital where doctors declare her dead

A seven-month-old baby girl was declared dead Monday at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital after being brought to the medical center unconscious.
Magen David Adom paramedics were called to an apartment in the city of Beit Shemesh, west of the capital, where they found the girl. They took the baby to the hospital while trying to resuscitate her.
Police opened an investigation, and a carer who was apparently taking care of the girl was detained for questioning.
The death comes days after a six-week-old baby was killed when a table fell on his head in the same city. The accident happened during an event for women at a function hall. The table was apparently standing at the side of the hall when it fell on the baby, who was in a stroller. He was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries the following day.
