7-year-old in bicycle fatally hit by truck in south

A 7-year-old boy was killed Thursday after being struck by a truck while riding his bike.
The accident occurred at Moshav Ben Zakai, near the southern city of Yavne.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said medics found the boy under the truck and declared him dead at the scene.
The victim was not immediately identified.
Police opened an investigation and detained the driver, a 25-year-old resident of northern Israel, for questioning.
According to Or Yarok, a road safety advocacy group, the boy was the 127th person in Israel to be killed in a traffic accident since the start of the year.
