Internationally acclaimed writer David Grossman joins “Times of Israel Presents” on Sunday, April 2, to talk about his life, career and new novel, “A Horse Walks into a Bar,” with writer Benjamin Balint.
The novel, recently translated into English, is about a comedian, Dovaleh Greenstein, and his personal revelations during one dramatic night of stand-up in a Netanya bar.
The one-scene novel tells a heart-wrenching, angst-ridden story of Greenstein’s losses — and those of the nation, seen through the eyes of an old childhood friend, district court judge Avishai Lazar, who is sitting in the audience.
Grossman will discuss the book, as well as thoughts about his own life and career. Copies of the novel will be available for purchase and signing by the author, courtesy of Katamon Books.

March 28: ADAM LEBOR writes for the Economist from Budapest. He is the author of several acclaimed non-fiction books including “Hitler’s Secret Bankers,” “Tower of Basel,” and “City of Oranges” about Jaffa. He now writes thrillers featuring the former Mossad agent Yael Azoulay. The latest is “The Reykjavik Assignment.”
MISHKA BEN-DAVID is a former Mossad agent who lives outside Jerusalem and is the author of 15 books. His spy thrillers include “Duet in Beirut,” “Forbidden Love in St. Petersburg,” and “Final Stop: Algiers.”
