Police arrest man who threatened anti-Netanyahu protesters with knife
Police say they have arrested a 23-year-old Jerusalem resident who was filmed holding a up a knife and threatening protesters demonstrating against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Rishon Lezion.
Police say he was taken in for questioning and eventually sent to house arrest.
Demonstrators have been holding regular protests against Netanyahu, demanding he resign over his trial on charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, as well as his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
The protests have been dogged by a rash of attacks on protesters by far-right extremists supportive of Netanyahu.
