Top court rejects Corrie family appeal

The Supreme Court rejects an appeal by the Corrie family of the Haifa District Court’s ruling that said the State of Israel is exempt from paying damages to the family of Rachel Corrie, a US citizen and left-wing activist who was run over by a bulldozer, since Corrie died during actions that happened in a war zone.
The justices did however accept the family’s demand to reject a Nazareth District Court ruling that the family filed duplicate claims regarding the circumstances of Corrie’s autopsy. The court ruled that the family’s lawsuit regarding the autopsy would be returned to the Magistrate’s Court, Ynet reports.
