Tu B’Av, Israel’s version of Valentine’s Day, is being celebrated Thursday night through Friday, and Tel Aviv is celebrating with Kissing Spots, hot pink, life-size picture frames where couples can show — and capture — their love on camera.
It’s a Tu B’Av version of mistletoe, the green-leafed, Christmas symbol of romance.
The two giant picture frames are set against the backdrop of the sea at Aviv Beach (next to the Manta Ray restaurant) and at HaPisga Park, the grassy expanse overlooking the sea in Jaffa.
All couples and lovers of Tel Aviv are invited to pose with the objects of their affection in the frames, which will remain in place after Tu B’Av.
