Two injured in Jaffa hit and run

Two pedestrians were severely wounded in a hit and run accident in Jaffa Friday evening.

A man and a woman in their forties suffered serious head injuries after a vehicle crashed into them while they were crossing the street shortly after 10 p.m. Magen David Adom paramedics gave them initial treatment on the scene before transferring them to nearby hospitals.

Shortly after midnight, police officers arrested several young men suspected of being in the white Mazda who hit the couple and collided with another vehicle before fleeing the scene. The men were apprehended while allegedly attempting to remove evidence of the collision from the car.

Four other people were injured in a collision between two vehicles north of Jerusalem. A 22-year-old man was severely wounded and three others suffered mild injuries. They were transferred to Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in the capital for treatment.
