Gazans call for Nakba Day unity, clash with troops

Palestinian factions in Gaza have held a Nakba Day march and called for unity among the various rival groups.

Low-level clashes are also reported between Israeli troops and protesters on the Gaza border and in Bethelehem in the West Bank.

“Sixty-eight years have passed since the Nakba and our people have never forgotten their homeland, Palestine. We will return,” Fatah member Zakariyya al-Agha says during the Gaza rally, according to the Ma’an news site. “Let the whole world know that our people will never accept an alternative to this homeland […] no matter how far the distances or how high the occupier’s walls are.”
