Israel ends Eurobasket run after 84-79 loss to Greece

In the last round-of-16 match, Greece — which eliminated defending champion Spain in the group stage — beats Israel 84-79 at the Eurobasket tournament to set up a quarterfinal match against three-time champion Lithuania.

The loss ends Israel’s run in the tournament, after it beat Belgium last week, marking the first time in over a decade that it advanced past the group stage in the Eurobasket, chalking up wins against Iceland and France and a 66-64 loss to Poland.
