Over 80 Gazans who have stayed in Israel for over two years, barred from returning due to the war against Hamas, were returned today to the Strip.
They are patients who entered Israel for medical treatment before the Hamas-led massacre of October 7, 2023, and their companions.
They were hospitalized in three medical centers, mostly in two hospitals in East Jerusalem.
Since the war began, Israel has not sent patients back to Gaza, nor allowed new patients to enter for treatment, as had previously been allowed.
The Times of Israel has learned that all the returning patients completed their medical treatments and agreed to go back to Gaza.
Around 30 other patients remain in those hospitals, having asked to continue their treatments, and therefore did not return to Gaza.
