Woman stabbed by boyfriend after filing police complaint against him
Prior to attack, in which she was badly wounded, victim had refused police suggestion to stay at a women’s shelter

A woman in Rishon Lezion was badly wounded when she was stabbed by her boyfriend Sunday, hours after she filed a police complaint against him.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said the 36-year-old woman had “signs of severe violence all over her body.” She was taken to the Yitzhak Shamir Medical Center in Tzrifin after receiving initial treatment at the scene.
The incident came hours after the woman filed a police complaint against her boyfriend, alleging he made threats against her, police said.
In light of the complaint, police suggested she stay at a women’s shelter but she refused. She was later ambushed and stabbed by her boyfriend after police failed to track him down.
Police said he was arrested and an investigation was opened into the incident.
