Man charged with inciting against Arabs on Facebook
Upper Nazareth resident said Arabs who walk into city should be beaten, called to carry out revenge kidnapping

Prosecutors filed an indictment against a 26-year-old resident of Upper Nazareth for inciting racism and violence against Arabs on a Facebook page he created and managed two years ago.
The page was entitled “Nazarenes on Facebook (Facebook for Jews only),” and was used during the periods of November-December 2013 and June-July 2014, when tensions between Jews and Arabs were high due to terror attacks and the summer war with Gaza in 2014.
According to the Israeli news site Local, the main profile picture of the controversial Facebook page was the text “Today everyone knows: Kahana was right,” referring to the assassinated Israeli politician Meir Kahane who proposed expelling Arabs from Israel.
The indictment, which was submitted by the North District Attorney and approved by the Attorney General, said that the page had garnered high visibility.
In one post from November 2013, after 18-year-old soldier Eden Atias from Nazareth Illit was stabbed to death on a bus by a Palestinian from Jenin, the accused wrote: “This is the situation now… From now on, dear Jews, any Arab who walks into Nazareth Illit is going to get beat up. I call on you to break everything of theirs: the car, I-phone, teeth. Let’s be strong… Don’t be afraid! We’ll start our own Intifada.”
In another post published in June 2014, several days after three youths were kidnapped and killed by a Hamas cell in the West Bank, the accused wrote: “Only Arabs can kidnap? What courage…What’s the problem with doing a small walkabout and snatch one Ahmad… We don’t need more than a Taser if someone has one, or just grab him put him into a car.”
Several weeks after the post, an East Jerusalem teen was kidnapped, beaten and burned to death by Jews seeking to avenge the kidnapping and killing.
