Knesset committees chaired by UTJ lawmakers cancel hearings after party quits government

After the United Torah Judaism party announced its dramatic exit from the government last night, the Knesset committees headed by the party’s lawmakers cancel their hearings for today.

The Knesset Finance Committee, headed by UTJ’s Moshe Gafni, the Labor and Welfare Committee, chaired by UTJ MK Yisrael Eichler, the Internal Affairs and Environment Committee headed by UTJ MK Yaakov Asher, and the Special Committee for Public Petitions, led by UTJ’s Yitzhak Pindrus, all cancel their hearings for today, according to the Knesset spokesman.

Meanwhile, members of the ruling Likud party are already reportedly squabbling over the jobs vacated by the exit of UTJ.
