Prosecutors are planning to indict a man from Haifa on security offenses after he was arrested on suspicion of spying for Iran, including during the recent war, the Shin Bet and police announce.
Raanan Ohana, 44, was arrested in May on suspicion of working for an Iranian intelligence agent over the course of months.
According to police, the suspect transferred intelligence to Iranian-linked actors from January to March this year, including during the recent US-Israeli war with the Islamic Republic.
A prosecutor’s declaration is filed against him today, indicating law enforcement has collected enough evidence to issue an indictment.
He is accused of filming “sensitive locations” and then passing the material to his handler in exchange for payment in cryptocurrency.
Police say the suspect will be indicted in the Haifa District Court in the coming days.
