The Palestine Red Crescent Society says its medics are treating an 85-year-old man who was beaten by IDF soldiers in the Palestinian town of Tubas, in the northeast of the West Bank. He is being taken to a hospital, the ambulance service says.
The Palestinian Authority’s public broadcaster Palestine TV publishes on the Telegram app what it says is footage of the attack on the man. The blurry and unverified video shows a man walking on a street in front of soldiers, one of whom then kicks him forcefully, causing him to fall.
Some outlets publish the footage without specifying whether the person being attacked is an elderly man.
Meanwhile, the ambulance service also reports that in nearby Tammun, Israeli forces arrested a man after ambushing him from inside an ambulance.
The IDF does not respond to a request for comment on either incident.
The IDF and Shin Bet said this morning that they commenced wide-scale operations in the northern West Bank last night and “won’t allow terror to become established in the area.”
