Zamir leads shakeup of General Staff with a series of promotions

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir announces a new round of senior appointments in the military and a shuffle in the General Staff.
Such promotions in the General Staff are routine after officers complete their tenure.
Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, the chief of the Home Front Command, is appointed as the next Northern Command chief, replacing Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin.
Maj. Gen. Dan Goldfus, the current commander of the Northern Corps and Maneuver Array, is appointed as the next chief of the Depth Corps, replacing Maj. Gen. Nimrod Aloni.
Maj. Gen. Hidai Zilberman, Israel’s defense attaché to the US, is appointed as head of the Planning and Force Design Directorate, replacing Vice Adm. Eyal Harel.
Brig. Gen. Dan Noyman, the commander of the Command and Staff College, is appointed as the next head of the Military Colleges, also replacing Aloni. He will be promoted to the rank of major general upon entering the role.
Brig. Gen. Yaki Dolf, the commander of the West Bank division, is appointed as the next chief of the Northern Corps, replacing Goldfus. He will be promoted to major general.
Brig. Gen. Shai Klepper, the commander of the 91st “Galilee” Regional Division, is appointed as the next Home Front Command chief, replacing Milo. He will also be promoted to major general.
Brig. Gen. Rami Abudraham, chief of staff at the IDF Ground Forces, will be appointed as head of the Technological and Logistics Directorate, replacing Maj. Gen. Mishel Yanko. He will be promoted to major general.
Zamir’s appointments were all approved by Defense Minister Israel Katz, and the officers will enter their roles in the coming months, the IDF says.
