The organization behind most of the college campus anti-Israel activities in America is increasing its tactics to “silence and intimidate” pro-Israel activists, according to a statement released by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on Wednesday.

Citing the recent incident of phony eviction notices to Jewish students at Florida Atlantic University, ADL National Director Abe Foxman said that Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) is attempting to “create tension on campus by marginalizing Israel supporters and fomenting hostility.”

Foxman added that “when anti-Israel activity is so pervasive and severe that it creates a hostile environment for students, it is imperative for university administrations to not only speak out against such actions, but to also act to ensure a safe environment.”

The statement listed the various tactics employed by the SJP in order to “demonize Israel and portray Israelis as the aggressors” in the current Middle East conflict. The tactics include refusing to even talk with pro-Israel counterparts so as not to grant legitimacy to Israel, disrupting pro-Israel events, using inflammatory language, such as comparing Israelis to Nazis, holding anti-Apartheid week programs, and “pinkwashing”, which claims that Israel is using its progressive record on LGBT issues to distract the world from its actions against the Palestinians.
