Several El Al flights from Ben Gurion International Airport were delayed Monday morning due to a miscalculation of the number of kosher for Passover meals ordered by the Israeli airline’s passengers.
In total, eight flights bound to the US and to Europe were delayed for nearly an hour and a half, the company reported.
El Al later stated that the shortage in kosher meals had been resolved and that all further flights were set to take off as scheduled, Walla reported. The company apologized for the delay and assured its costumers that all eight flights would reach their destination before the holiday.
During the seven days of the Passover holiday, over a million passengers are expected to pass through the Ben Gurion Airport, a 25 percent rise compared to last year, Israel Radio reported.
