Teacher finds bomb parts in kindergarten sandbox

Police are investigating how pieces of an explosive device ended up at a kindergarten in Nahariya

A kindergarten teacher in Nahariya found components of an explosive device in a sandbox at her school Sunday, the second time in as many weeks that weapons have been found at a school in northern Israel.

Police opened an investigation into the incident, and the bomb parts were sent to the criminal identification lab.

Last week, Northern District police discovered an extensive weapons arsenal hidden in a school and other places in the Galilee village of Abu Sinan.

Rockets, grenades, explosives, detonators, RPGs and hundreds of bullets were concealed in several locations in the village, including in a kindergarten and a drainage ditch.
