IDF Northern Command chief says Israel ‘at war’ in Lebanon amid escalating Hezbollah drone attacks

Chief of the IDF Northern Command Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo says the command is “at war” in Lebanon and that the military “will not tolerate fire on the home front,” following an uptick of Hezbollah drone attacks on northern Israel in recent days.

Speaking at a ceremony for the 474th “Golan” Regional Brigade in Katzrin, a city in the Golan Heights, Milo says that Israeli forces are operating “deep inside Lebanese territory” against Hezbollah infrastructure and operatives.

“On the Lebanese front, the Northern Command is at war,” Milo says.

“Harm to civilians and the civilian sphere is not a reality we can accept or treat as routine,” Milo says, accusing Hezbollah of deliberately escalating the security situation in the north through direct attacks on civilians.

His comments come after a Hezbollah UAV struck a home in Metula and an explosive drone damaged a school bus stop in Shomera earlier today. No injuries were reported.
