Threatening graffiti was found spraypainted outside the offices of the Channel 13 news network in Tel Aviv this morning. The outlet has filed a complaint with police.
The spraypainted message reads: “The blood of the traitors will be cleared for publication,” paraphrasing a term generally used by the army when it announces the deaths of soldiers in battle.
Channel 13 announces it has filed a complaint with the police, saying it “unequivocally condemns” the vandalism.
“There is no place in society for violence and threats. Differences of opinion must be resolved through dialogue and understanding,” says the outlet.
Incitement against journalists has escalated recently. A week ago, right-wing activists attacked Channel 12 correspondent Guy Peleg during a speaking gig. The journalist, who has come under fire from the right over his airing of leaked footage from the Sde Teiman holding facility last year depicting soldiers’ alleged abuse of a Gazan detainee, required a police escort to return safely to his car.
