Son of Likud MK Osnat Mark charged with threatening police during altercation

Likud MK Osnat Mark’s son was charged Sunday over an altercation with police in January in which he allegedly threatened officers who asked him to move his vehicle that was blocking a road.
Police filed an indictment at the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court against Lidor Mark, 25, for making threats after he refused to move his car from a security road near the West Bank settlement of Ma’ale Adumim.
According to the indictment, Lidor cursed and threatened two police officers who asked him to move his vehicle.
At the time of the incident he was was arrested and questioned, then released several hours later.
The filing of charges came hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended the Mark family home on Saturday evening for a traditional Mimouna celebration to mark the end of the Passover festival.
Osnat Mark, a strident and divisive defender of Netanyahu, was placed 34th on Likud’s electoral slate and lost her Knesset spot after the most recent election when the party won 30 seats.
She entered the Knesset in 2015, lost her seat in 2019, then rejoined parliament last year when Gilad Erdan left to assume the ambassadorship to the US and UN.
Mark was known for her abrasive style, for media appearances in which she strongly defended Netanyahu, and for calling then-Likud MK Michal Shir an “insolent bitch” when Shir turned her back on the party in December. Mark later apologized for the remark.
