Woman stabbed after asking her coffee be warmed up was headed to buy wedding dress

A woman stabbed this week after complaining to a gas station worker in Rishon Lezion that the coffee she ordered was cold said Friday she was headed to pick up her wedding dress at the time of the assault.

“I was certain I was going to die,” the woman told Channel 13 news. “He said he was going to kill me.”

“At the moment he has not expressed regret,” added the woman, who had her face blacked out in the interview and was not identified by her real name.

She did not specify when her wedding was scheduled and if the assault would force its delay.

In security camera footage from Monday’s incident, the woman can be heard complaining to the shopkeeper that the coffee he’d made her was cold. The two began arguing as the woman demanded that he warm it up or make a new cup while the clerk refused. When the woman began asking for his name and details, he flung the cup at her and chased her out of the shop.

According to police charges filed Thursday, he then attacked the woman with a broken bottle and stabbed her, for which she was taken to a nearby hospital in moderate condition.

The woman said she was having problems sleeping since the attack and has avoided seeing video from the incident.

“This nightmare is on my mind all the time,” she said. “Even now I’m having a lot of trouble speaking but it’s important that people hear about the incident.”

The suspect has been identified by police as a Holon resident in his twenties. He was arrested this week and police have requested he remains in custody until the end of legal proceedings.
