French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe pledged his country’s support for Israel and promised it would prevent Iran from gaining nuclear weapons, on Tuesday.

In an address to the Friends of Israel assembly of parliamentarians in Paris, Juppe said that last month’s shooting of four Jews in a terrorist attack in Toulouse, had brought the two countries closer together and that since the shooting France had become tougher in facing down radical Islam.

Juppe also condemned rocket fire on Israel from Gaza and said that it s important to differentiate between those who target civilians and those who act in order to defend them.
