A 31-year-old woman was found dead early Thursday morning in Bat Yam after police were called to the scene by a man claiming to have killed his wife.
Police received the call at 3 a.m. from the man, 37, telling them he had stabbed his wife in their apartment on Rehov Mivtzah Sinai. He was arrested when police arrived at the scene.
Superintendent Ronen Shamir, head of the Criminal Investigations Department for the Ayalon District, told Army Radio, “Police arrived at the house and the suspect told them he had indeed murdered his wife.”
Magen David Adom paramedics arrived shortly after and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The couple’s two children were present in the house at the time and have been handed over to social services by police.

Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
