Over 200 lay enforcement personnel, including police detectives, crowd-control officers and border police from the coastal region, raided 19 buildings in the northern town of Acre in an early morning drug bust on Monday.
Police arrested 15 suspects in the historical port city, based on information they gleaned from an undercover operation. A female operative spent five months in Acre gathering leads and information about narcotics dealers and suppliers. Five vehicles and a boat worth hundreds of thousands of shekels were also seized by police.
The suspects were slated to be brought before the Acre Magistrate’s Court to be remanded later Monday.
