El Salvador established diplomatic ties with the Palestinian Authority on Thursday, becoming one of the last Central American nations to do so.
On Friday, Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Riyad Al-Maliki was scheduled to meet with officials in Honduras to sign a diplomatic agreement, as well, reported Israel Radio.
Until February 2009, El Salvador was the only country in the world to have its embassy to Israel located in Jerusalem, not Tel Aviv or its environs.
