3 from Arab village in north arrested for suspected arson

Police arrest three suspects from an Arab village in northern Israel on suspicion of starting a fire in the area of Alon Hagalil, a community in the Lower Galilee.

Their remand is extended until Monday by the Nazareth Magistrate Court, the Ynet news website reports.

The detainees’ families say they lit a bonfire in the area of the village and stayed by it until it was doused, and therefore the allegations against them are false.
