Charges against press dinner shooter to be filed soon; FBI chief urges witnesses to come forward
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleUS Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche says charges will be filed shortly against the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooter and that the nature of the charges will be obvious considering what had happened.
Blanche stresses that “the investigation is obviously ongoing and just started.”
FBI Director Kash Patel says the agency is examining a long gun and shell casings recovered from the scene, as well as interviewing witnesses from the dinner. He urges anyone with information to come forward.
Meanwhile, interim Washington, DC, police chief Jeffery Carroll says the suspect was armed with a shotgun, handgun and multiple knives. He says investigators have no reason to believe at this time that anyone else was involved.
