Palestinian said shot dead by settlers in West Bank; no comment from IDF
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA young man was killed and his brother critically wounded by settler gunfire today in the Palestinian village of Wadi al-Rakhim, part of the collection of hamlets known as Masafer Yatta in the southern West Bank, according to Palestinian reports.
The slain man is identified as Amir Shenaran, 28. His brother is reportedly 33 years old.
Palestinian media says the two were shot while trying to fend off settlers who brought livestock to graze near the brothers’ home in Wadi al-Rakhim.
Footage from the scene shows a man in IDF uniform wielding an assault rifle as he stands over the slain man. The IDF does not respond to a request for comment.

Shenaran’s death raises to four the number of Palestinians killed by settlers this year, and to 40 the number slain since the Hamas-led onslaught of October 7, 2023, which was followed by a sharp uptick in settler violence in the West Bank, according to WAFA, the Palestinian Authority’s official news agency.
He is the third Palestinian killed by settlers since Israel and the US launched a bombing campaign in Iran last Saturday, after two brothers were shot dead in the northern West Bank’s Qaryut on Monday, according to WAFA.
The IDF has said it was investigating that shooting, but no arrests have been reported.
