Two arrested on arson suspicions over Beit Meir blaze
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleTwo suspects have been arrested in connection with a fire that sparked overnight, burning several homes in the town of Beit Meir outside Jerusalem, police say.
Both suspects are in Israel illegally, police say.
Firefighters have managed to beat the flames back from the village, but the fire is still burning in the surrounding forest.

The arrests come as officials say suspicions are growing that at least some of the fires burning around the country were set intentionally, as nationalistically motivated arson.
