Grammy winner and perennial crowd-shocker Lady Gaga will play Tel Aviv on September 13.
It’s been a banner year for Israeli music lovers, with megastar acts including Justin Timberlake and The Rolling Stones arriving in the Holy Land for live concerts, and the Lady Gaga tour — confirmed this morning by promoter Udi Applebaum at a Tel Aviv press conference — means the good times will keep rolling through early autumn.
The multi-talented singer/songerwriter, who burst onto the world stage with her 2008 album “The Fame,” will perform at Yarkon Park as part of her world tour, dubbed “artRAVE: The ARTPOP ball.” The tour is named in honor of Gaga’s third studio album, Artpop, which was released last November and features such hit singles as “Applause,” “Do What You Want” and “G.U.Y.”
She played Tel Aviv once before, in August 2009.
Tickets for the Gagafest will hover in the same range as those for this summer’s other major musical acts (excluding the very high-priced Rolling Stones). Lawn seats are going for NIS 370, VIP seats start at NIS 1250, and the coveted golden-ring seats will go for NIS 1450.
Applebaum is producing the show alongside Ronen Miley with the help of Bookmark Entertainment. Fans have been promised a massive, mesmerizing show featuring intense choreography, several costume changes, and scenery and lighting fit for a Broadway production.
Tickets will go on sale in Israel at 8 a.m. on June 11 at ladygaga.co.il or by dialing *8780.
