Israel Police are investigating the suspected murder last week of an Israeli-Arab man from the city of Nazareth in northern Israel who was found in critical condition with multiple stab wounds to his body.
Ameen Omar Darawsheh, 19, was found last Monday night with severe injuries and later died at the EMMS Hospital in Nazareth, also known as the English Hospital, police said on Sunday after a gag order was partially lifted on the case.
According to an online tribute to the young man on the Nazareth World Facebook page, Darawsheh was to begin medical school after the summer.
Darawsheh’s father is the principal of the Ibn Khaldoun Junior High School in Nazareth.
Police said they were investigating the circumstances of the death and did not yet reveal a motive.
