A woman’s dismembered body was found in a suitcase on Hahagana street in south Tel Aviv on Saturday.

A passerby spotted the suitcase near the train station and alerted police. Officers who arrived on the scene made the gruesome discovery of its content. The passerby, Igor, a cyclist, had tried to move the case, found it was heavy, and called the police, fearing it was a bomb.

The corpse was missing the head and both legs, according to initial reports, and signs of violence were found on what was left of the body. A gag order was placed on some aspects of the case.

The woman is believed to have been in her early 30s. Police launched an investigation into the killing.
