Ultra-Orthodox extremist protesters have breached the Tel Hashomer army base, jumping over the fence to try and prevent the enlistment of yeshiva students to the IDF.

Footage showed by Channel 12 shows the situation is not under control, with rioters outnumbering security forces.

The network says dozens have broken in, but the Ynet news site says only several have done so.

The Haredim have for hours been protesting outside the IDF recruitment office against the recruitment of ultra-Orthodox men to the army.
