Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has spoken with 10 foreign ministers since the operation started, a Foreign Ministry spokesman tells The Times of Israel.

Some of those ministers are “from the region.”

The Foreign Ministry is working to protect Israel’s legitimacy, ensuring that the international community gives it room to operate against Islamic Jihad.

It sent a series of messages to its diplomatic missions around the world, telling them to stress that this round started with the rocket fire last week, that Israel is targeting PIJ chiefs and is doing everything it can to hit only terrorists.

Diplomats are also asking countries to specifically condemn the rocket fire from Gaza.
