Humanitarian aid corridor into southern Gaza is shut down due to Hamas attack near Kerem Shalom crossing

The only corridor for humanitarian aid to enter southern Gaza has been shut down, apparently because of fighting in the area, the Kan public broadcaster reports.

The AP news agency subsequently cites the  Israel Defense Forces as saying the Kerem Shalom crossing is open but the humanitarian route leading from the crossing into the city of Rafah is closed until further notice.

Hamas’s armed wing has said it attacked an Israeli tank in the area. The Kan report also says this, adding an RPG was fired toward Israeli troops.
