IDF: Islamic Jihad has fired 780 rockets, mortars since Gaza fighting began; 180 fell short

The latest Israel Defense Forces data puts the number of rockets and mortars launched toward Israel by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group since Friday at 780.

Of them, 180 fell short in the Gaza Strip, according to the latest data, which is as of 4:15 p.m.

The Iron Dome air defense system has intercepted some 270 projectiles, according to the data.

The military says the Iron Dome missile defense system has demonstrated a near-97 percent success rate at intercepting projectiles fired toward populated areas.
