The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet security agency say troops detained 25 members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the West Bank in recent days.

The arrests come as part of the IDF’s operation against Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip.

The military says several of the detained men are operatives recruited by Tareq Izz ed-Din, who was killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza early Tuesday.

Israeli officials have said Izz ed-Din worked from the Gaza Strip to recruit terror cells in the northern West Bank, including one that sought to build rockets to launch at Israel.
