Italy’s FM welcomes Israel-Lebanon talks to be held in Rome next week

Italy “warmly welcomes” the announcement that the next round of Israel-Lebanon peace talks will be held next week in Rome.

“Last April, I had communicated to the Lebanese and Israeli governments Italy’s willingness to support the dialogue for peace in the region and to serve as the venue for the negotiations,” says Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on X, boasting that it is evidence of Italy’s “authoritative and credible role on the international political scene.”

Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter announced yesterday that the talks would take place in Rome on July 14 and 15.
