Likud MK Danny Danon calls for the overhaul legislation as well as the protests to be temporarily paused for a few days while the Israeli military is operating in the West Bank city of Jenin.

“I think that at this time, both sides need to put everything aside and support our troops, who do not have an easy task at the moment. And we can go back to it all in a few days,” Danon tells Army Radio.

“I think that everyone — the legislators, the protesters, the analysts — should back our troops and project a sense of unity,” Danon says.

Hours earlier, Israeli military forces launched a major operation in Jenin focused on the city’s restive refugee camp, with reports of airstrikes on multiple targets.

Meanwhile, as the Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee continues deliberations on the “reasonableness” bill, anti-overhaul protesters have kicked off a day of stepped-up action.
