Madonna writes a message to Pope Leo XIV in a social media post, urging him to visit Gaza in order to help alleviate the suffering of children in the enclave.

“Most Holy Father, Please go to Gaza and bring your light to the children before it’s too late. As a mother, I cannot bear to watch their suffering. The children of the world belong to everyone,” she writes.

“You are the only one of us who cannot be denied entry. We need the humanitarian gates to be fully opened to save these innocent children. There is no more time.”

“Please say you will go. Love, Madonna,” she adds.

Madonna, who unofficially added “Esther” to her name in 2005, marks some Jewish festivals though she isn’t Jewish. The singer, 65, does not perform on Friday nights and Saturdays because of Shabbat and has declared Israel “the energy center of the world.”

Madonna owns a home in Tel Aviv. She has performed three concerts in the country.
