Report: Israeli officials warn US-Iran deal ‘does not serve Israel’s interests’

Senior Israeli security officials have expressed alarm towards the proposed US deal with Iran, which is reportedly expected to be signed in the coming days. They are warning that, “as it seems, this does not serve Israel’s interest,” Channel 12 reports.

According to the report, officials fear the deal would grant Iran time for economic and military recovery, after which “it will be hard for the Americans and us to go back and fight.”

The report adds that Israeli officials are particularly focused on whether Iran’s nuclear material will actually be removed from the country, as US President Donald Trump has repeatedly pledged.

Officials also reportedly warn that the agreement does not address Iran’s missile program or Tehran’s regional proxy network, and stress that any agreement must preserve the IDF’s freedom of action in Lebanon.
