Fresh rocket sirens are sounding in the southern town of Kissufim, close to the border with the Gaza Strip.

The military does not immediately provide further details.

It has been around eight hours since the last rocket attack from Gaza on southern Israel, amid the military’s Operation Shield and Arrow in the Strip.

The rocket attack comes after Israel killed a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad early this morning in a strike in Gaza.

There have been reports of a potential Egyptian-brokered ceasefire, although the latest assassination and renewed rocket fire are likely to hamper those efforts.
