The security cabinet last night voted to form a team of ministers who will oversee the implementation of the second stage of the Gaza ceasefire deal, the Kan public broadcaster reports.
The team will be made up of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, Justice Minister Yariv Levin, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, the report says.
The latter two, far-right ministers, voted against the deal.
The second stage of the deal is meant to begin after all hostages are freed. Hamas is still holding the bodies of three deceased hostages.
No firm timeline has been put on the next stages of the plan, but the Trump administration is working to set up an international security force with troops from Arab and Muslim nations to police the truce as part of its second stage, which also includes the disarmament of Hamas.
