Sergeant Major Hany Trudy, 40, was scouring the building, located in the industrial zone of Kiryat Shmona, with another policeman after they received calls about possible intruders. He scaled the roof where he thought the burglars were located, and the structure collapsed beneath him.

He was critically injured and was airlifted to Ziv Medical Center in Safed where he died from his wounds.

Trudy was survived by his wife and three children — 11-year-old twins and a 13-year-old son.
